A little while ago, I posted on the topic of the compensation theory, which states that one’s weaknesses can foster strengths in other areas of life.
Yet, in our attempts to overcome challenges in our life, we bypass the very things in our life that pose a challenge, thinking that the more quickly I can get rid of this or that, the more quickly I can start ‘living better’.
A sobering reality, though, is that the more mindful we are of our limitations, the more we understand an amazing truth: that we have all that we need right now to live a successful life.
Let’s talk about anxiety, something that I am well acquainted with for many years in order to see this theory in action
I am known for double guessing and triple guessing many decisions just because I did not want to leave any room for error, which has taken a ton of energy, but…there is an upside…
Over the years, I have found adequate ways to manage the stressors in my life, and am better able to turn such ‘guess time’ into some pretty awesome brainstorming.
Let me generalize what I have gone/ am going through to deal with my own weaknesses
Here are some workable steps that have helped me:
- Take note of how you are currently dealing with your weakness
- Become mindful about your weakness
Just two steps, two effective steps that have worked for me, and may for you
I am working on creating an empowerment worksheet regarding this article. Consider subscribing to my blog so that you don’t miss it.
Blessings on your journey in overcoming the challenges in your life
